ECG:  This service allows clinicians to screen their patients prior to anesthetic procedures, or at any time during their health care program.  This is a great add-on to a geriatric exam.

Echocardiogram:  An imaging test that uses ultrasound to monitor and observe the heart's function.

24-Hour Holter Monitor:  This service provides a 24-hour window of continuous monitoring.  We ship the unit to you with instructions to place it and send it back to us after the monitoring time. The Holter is used to identify life-threatening arrhythmias, typically indicated when there is an arrhythmia seen on ECG. This permits the DVM to see the magnitude of the arrhythmia and if treatment is warranted. This service is also useful in dogs with severe lethargy, exercise intolerance, and/or syncopal/fainting/collapsing episodes. This process helps to determine if there is an arrhythmia causing those events and if treatment should be pursued. The Holter is also useful to monitor the efficacy of anti-arrhythmic therapy.

The report includes findings, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.  (Sample Case Link)

Report turnaround time: Usually 2 days after we receive the Holter back, which is almost always overnighted to us.

Cardiology Telemedicine Consultation: This is a video conference with the client typically done after an echocardiogram is performed. Our specialist goes into deep details with the client for about 1 hour. They use heart models to explain disease, etc. A report is also created and recommendations for follow-up with their rDVM for lab work, rads, and echocardiogram.
